Pick 6

This is a very simple fantasy format where there’s a virtual budget and the manager has to select six players for their team regardless of the players’ positions.

Due to its simplicity, it can be used in many sports such as football, basketball, American football, golf, baseball, tennis, MMA & ice hockey. In some sports like Formula 1, this concept doesn’t make sense or doesn’t create a fun game so it is not used. There is also a possibility to include the selection of a captain who scores extra points (2x or 1.5x) to make the game more fun - this is a tournament setting that can be applied per contest.

Star Pick

Star Pick is an even simpler fantasy format that is meant to be used for new users in order to learn the fantasy concept, or for punters that are looking for some quick & easy game to play. Managers only need to select one player from the pool with no budget restriction. If this player scores the most points among all the real-life players that are included in the contest, the user wins.

There are no tie-breakers, so all users who picked the top-scoring player(s) will split the prizepool equally.

This game has an interesting dynamic that can provide high payouts (100x, 500x, etc.) if the winner correctly picks an outsider, or a “safe” low payout (2x, 5x, etc.) if one of the popularly picked players end up winning, thus many players split the prize.

This format is good in sports with high variance of scores among players, and is good to be used on slates with many matches (usually 4-8). It is mostly used in Football & golf. It has been tried in basketball & NFL with poor results (too predictable/low variance), but can technically work for other sports.
