Scout Gaming Group has launched with Globo-owned Cartola Express with a fully localised Daily Fantasy Sports product in the Brazilian market.

Globo is a major Brazilian Television and Media conglomerate and one of the largest media companies in the world, owning and operating multiple free-to-air and pay-per-view television stations, production studios and a worldwide media distribution network.

Cartola had previously been operating in the market with hugely popular real money and free-to-play Fantasy sports operations for several years, with their free-to-play seasonal fantasy game attracting more than 10 million users. This year Cartola Express switched its real money operation to Scout Gaming Group and launched publicly ahead of the 2023/24 Brazilian Serie A season in early April.

The launch concluded a very successful 3-month integration and delivery period, which included full mobile optimised and desktop editions, localisation for the Brazilian market, bespoke UI, UX and branding, and the provision of a wide range of real money daily, weekly and monthly Fantasy Sports game formats based on multiple Brazilian football leagues and competitions, which was all delivered on time.  Content from other sports and leagues is also planned.

In addition to this, Cartola has utilised Scout Gaming Group’s flexible technical architecture, extensive B2B support and Account Management services to deploy and operate customised game formats, mechanics and user journeys geared towards the needs and preferences of Brazilian users.

The two businesses are working together in order to fully capitalise on the huge popularity of Daily Fantasy Sports in Brazil. Scout’s product capabilities will be utilised to drive increased engagement and retention with Cartola’s sizable existing and target audience.

Araz Heydariyehzadeh – Chief Commercial Officer at Scout Gaming Group said “A delivery of this size, scope and ambition would be challenging for anyone and we’re very proud of both of our teams for an excellent on-specification and on-schedule delivery.

This opens the door for some incredible opportunities for this partnership going forward and we’re delighted to be working with a fantastic, prestigious organisation like Globo and Cartola Express who share our vision and enthusiasm for Daily Fantasy Sports and believe in our ability to help them continue to dominate and deliver on their ambitions in this highly attractive market”.

Alessandra Catran Lewit – Head of Cartola Express said “Working with Scout Gaming Group allowed us to launch a more intuitive and user-friendly platform in record time. With this new platform, we’ll offer multiple sports events and new exciting game formats for the end user. These enhancements are decisive for scaling the product and the results of the first rounds of the Serie A prove we are in the right direction!”
