Scout Gaming Group further strengthens the relationship with Norwegian, EBU associated, NRK AS, Norway’s public service radio and television, as well as the country’s largest television channel.

Scout Gaming will this winter deliver its media-platform for the 2019–20 Biathlon World Cup (BWC) to NRK as a result of continued successful co-operation. This assignment comes as an immediate effect of previous delivered games platform having proven highly successful in achieving increased engagement, new signups/logins and a unique two-way dialogue with the end-users before.

The platform developed by Scout aimed at media companies has shown to offer a unique way for broadcasters and media companies to engage with viewers before, during and after sporting events. Unlike other fantasy games the game does not end when the sporting event begins as
mini-games are incorporated during the events. The platform also opens for seasonal engagement for user, giving the opportunity to the broadcaster to have interaction during a long period with the end-users.

The platform contains several industry-first features further strengthening the product proposition, including “The Vacation Manager” feature that makes sure end-user teams that are left unattended will be tended to by a smart algorithm making sure ineligible athletes are replaced
with active ones. Another added feature is connecting every virtual athlete with their social media profiles ensuring that the game becomes and stays a one stop shop for end-users consumption of news related to the sporting events.

Last year’s Winter Games World Cup game produced 40,000 unique users, 25,000 new logins, 13,000 previously unknown IP addresses and on average users logged in 4 times over the course of the event, for an average duration of 4 minutes. In total the viewership spent 2,6 million minutes in the game.

“This is the third software license we provide to NRK; we have together improved the platform to optimize user engagement. NRK leads the way in adapting new products from Scout Gaming, on the backbone of the fact that media business is changing and as a broadcaster you continuously must look for ways to engage users before, during and after events. This is something that NRK truly comprehends and realize in their determination to be the leading player in the Norwegian media landscape.” says our CPO Andreas Sundal.
